Hold You Down Cover

DJ Khaled is preparing a new album, announcing he’s a changed person with the title I Changed A Lot. As he attempts to bring up the hype for the LP, he dropped off a new record with r’n’b stars Chris Brown, August Alsina, Jeremih and Future, for “Hold You Down.”

Shortly after the audio for the song leaked, we’ve received the official music video for the new single. The four singers plus Khaled hit up a mansion to shoot the video, and bring along several video vixens. Khaled shows off how generous he is when he hands out stacks of cash to one particular video vixen, telling her to go buy her mama a house. Khaled is for the people.

J. Cole

“I’m tired of being desensitized to the murder of black men,” rapper J. Cole said in a statement on the Dreamvillain website with the release of his surprise new song “Be Free.” “I don’t give a fuck if it’s by police or peers. This shit is not normal.”

“Be Free” is Cole’s response to the police shooting of an unarmed African-American teenager, Michael Brown, in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson, Missouri. The shooting has sparked widespread discussion over police authority and racial profiling as well as protests around the country, including rallies in Detroit, Nashville, New York and Chicago, among other places. Cole recorded the piano ballad, with lyrics like “All we wanna do is break the chains off/ All we wanna do is be free” – and samples of a news report about the police shooting – after identifying with Brown’ story.

Chris Bosh Finally In Ghana!!!

Posted on

NBA super star Chris Bosh arrived in Ghana on Thursday afternoon ahead of a four-day official visit to the African country, BASKETBALLghana.com can confirm.

The Miami Heat forward was met on arrival at the Kotoko international airport by Senior Director for NBA Africa, John Manyo Plange, officials of Coca-Cola Company Limited, the Ghana Basketball Association and Chief Executive of Rite Multimedia Yaw Sakyi Afari.

He interacted with the media briefly before being whisked to the Movenpick Hotel in Accra where he will stay during his visit.

The 30-year-old is in Ghana on the invitation of Coca-Cola Company Limited and NBA Africa for the second edition of the Sprite Ball Clinic in the West Africa country.

Addressing the media on arrival, the former Toronto Raptors player was hopeful his visit will make an impact on young basketball players in Ghana.

“I always do a lot of travelling. I have friends from Ghana and I heard nothing but good things so it’s nice to be here to see it for myself,” he told reporters

“I don’t have any expectations when it comes to basketball. I just like to see the talents. I always love working with kids.
“I know everyone loves basketball here so I’m sure we’ll have a very good time. Really just teaching the game, playing the game and having a lot of fun.

“I have always worked with the NBA. I have been to South Africa with them and when they told me this was the destination, I jumped at the opportunity.

“I have been to many countries around the world and I always want to go to more.

“My man Pops Mensah Bonsu comes from here and he told me he came here last year and had an incredible time.”

Bosh will interact and train promising basketball talents in the country in a platform which will see one player being picked to represent Ghana at the 2014 Basketball Without Borders programme in South Africa in August.

Bosh is expected to meet with American ambassador to Ghana Gene Cretz on Friday morning before he addresses a scheduled press conference later in the day at the Aviation Social Centre.

He will hold the first session at the same venue on Friday July 11 before he travels to Cape Coast for the second clinic at the Adisadel College on Saturday July 12.

The 2014 Sprite Ball Clinic is being put together by Coca-Cola Company Limited in collaboration with NBA Africa and the Ghana Basketball Association.

It is organized by Rite Multimedia – leaders in basketball development and promotion in Ghana.

Well, all the ridiculous specualtion can finally end: LeBron James is returning to Cleveland to once again play for the Cavaliers. He made the announcement in an essay published on Sports Illustrated’s website. LeBron writes:

Before anyone ever cared where I would play basketball, I was a kid from Northeast Ohio. It’s where I walked. It’s where I ran. It’s where I cried. It’s where I bled. It holds a special place in my heart. People there have seen me grow up. I sometimes feel like I’m their son. Their passion can be overwhelming. But it drives me. I want to give them hope when I can. I want to inspire them when I can. My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball. I didn’t realize that four years ago. I do now.

I’m doing this essay because I want an opportunity to explain myself uninterrupted. I don’t want anyone thinking: He and Erik Spoelstra didn’t get along. … He and Riles didn’t get along. … The Heat couldn’t put the right team together. That’s absolutely not true.

I’m not having a press conference or a party. After this, it’s time to get to work.

When I left Cleveland, I was on a mission. I was seeking championships, and we won two. But Miami already knew that feeling. Our city hasn’t had that feeling in a long, long, long time. My goal is still to win as many titles as possible, no question. But what’s most important for me is bringing one trophy back to Northeast Ohio.

But this is not about the roster or the organization. I feel my calling here goes above basketball. I have a responsibility to lead, in more ways than one, and I take that very seriously. My presence can make a difference in Miami, but I think it can mean more where I’m from. I want kids in Northeast Ohio, like the hundreds of Akron third-graders I sponsor through my foundation, to realize that there’s no better place to grow up. Maybe some of them will come home after college and start a family or open a business. That would make me smile. Our community, which has struggled so much, needs all the talent it can get.

In Northeast Ohio, nothing is given. Everything is earned. You work for what you have.

I’m ready to accept the challenge. I’m coming home.

So Dan Gilbert’s dumb letter didn’t come back to haunt him after all. Go figure. You can read the full essay here.

Shortly after the SI story went live, LeBron made a more social media-friendly announcement via Instagram:
